Hi, i`ve purchased my first camcorder, the Sony Handycam DCR-HC24e, the software that is supplied is terrible, does any one know of any better or alternamtive software is available?????

Windows Movie Maker (freeware, included with MS Windows XP SP2) will do the job during your first steps in videomaking, assuming you use firewire.
Then you can install trial versions of the 'real' editors (Premiere, Vegas, Ulead) and decide before you buy.
