Default Edit Studio 5, and problems importing ASF files

I am trialling ES5, and have trouble with ASF files that come from the camera. The audio is OK, but the video sticks on the first frame.

Windows Media Encoder will change these files to WMV, which work fine, and ES5 will allow me to "zoom" in (a little), which is what I wanted when I joined.

But the encoder takes about 5 minutes for a clip that last 10 seconds, and as I have about 300 I've already retired but would like to finish an on going job before I need the wooden overcoat.

Should I drop ES5 and try another?

Default Any advice please?

Well, I'm a little disapointed. Is my question below your radar?

Which software editing program will give me: slow motion; zooming in to already recorded clips to approach a closeup from a landscape; and will accept ASF files without convertion? And which doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

EditStudio 5 does all that I can expect for the money. But it won't import the ASF files.

Your help really will be appreciated.

David

It always makes me sad when I read posts started in this manner.

ASF is a windows proprietary format of MPEG-4 and not suitable for editing, which is why Edit Studio is having problems playing back the video. There's not much really I can suggest other than doing what you are doing and convert the video.
