Default DVDr liitle disc problem

I have to edit one of these jewel like baubles from a sony camera. Sadly it has been shot in 'vr' mode and my version of vegas doesnt like the files. Not xp prob as they play in wmp ok.

And no i cant update my vegas today cos my net connection has been a slug for weeks (kill telewest).

I need a free convertor (no money job) to make the vob an avi.... any suggestions, or any other adivce?

virtualdub mod should be able to do the convert, free from here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=65889

and some other advice, tell them to chuck their camera out and buy a mini-DV one.

No unfortunately. V dub stopped transcoding mpeg2 ages ago cos of rights issues.

I actually found a 5 min trial version transcoder but it too has troublwe with the 'vr' format and has mangled up the vid / sound horribly into random chunks.

I think I will give up.

NOTE TO ALL

If you have a sony dvd cam shoot everything in 'video' not 'vr'.
