Hey everyone. I have Sony Vegas 6.0, but I have a problem with it. I created a simple .avi file of a 9.3 meg video set to about 1.5 megs worth of music, but when I rendered the file, it was 309 Mb. which obviously will not do.

Basically, I just need a really simple program that will let me put music to a video, and add subtitles over the video. Any reccomendations?

Vegas IS the tool for the job. I suspect you rendered the video as a DV file. Just render to a more compressed format, like wmv.

Try 'bit rate vbr' with a bit rate of 700k to 1m and leave the image size as original. That hould give you a file around 20 to 30 meg and it will stream for net distribution and look nearly as sharp.
