Capturing way too dark!

Im having trouble capturing footage off my camera to my pc. I have tried using both adobe premiere and windows movie maker and both end up with same result. When i capture video it shows up on the computer way too dark. I can brealy make anything out. However, as its capturing I can clearly watch it on the camera's screen. I can't figure out what to do to fix this problem.

However that thread did not solve anyones problem. Gama is not the issue :( I wish it was. Was just hoping there was new leads on what is causing the issue.

Are you using Firewire of analogue - if the latter, check your leads - this may be the root of your problem.

What are your video overlay settings like - i.e how do DVDs etc play on your PC? If they play fine, you can def rule out anything to do with your PC settings and isolate it to the capture process.

Sorry if this sounds a tad lame, but I've learned the hard way that it's best to try and isolate the problem by asking dumb questions
