Hi,
I am very new to editing DVDs. I just received a Sony Handycam and I have Windows XP Media Center (moviemaker) on my computer. The camera came with Picture Package software, and I have managed to download video but don't understand the software instructions for editing. I sense Windows Media may be more user friendly but I am confused by what I need to download in order for Media to recognize Sony DVDs. Could someone walk me through the basics? From what I understand, I need VirtualDubMod but do I also need this Pansonic DV Codec, and why? I am only interested in very basic editing and then burning the videos to pass along to family.
The more I learn the more confused I become. Any help layman's terms would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
