Do you consider it worth the upgrade to Elements 2, or have you only been on 2 and don't know what 1 was like, I cant make up my mind whether to go for the upgrade.

I've been editing in Premiere since 1995, I think it was 3.5 then or 4, ......Elements I find so easy to use, I don't want to upgrade unless there is a big advantage.

If you're happy with what you've got then stay with it mate. I only upgraded because the combined package of Photoshop Elements 4 and Premiere Elements 2 came to about £70 (after the Adobe rebate) and I thought it was good value.

I've only just installed it as I had to commit to a long overdue PC upgrade but I have to say it looks really good. In fact, it looks like it's the product Adobe wanted to have originally but only just got round to it.

Elements 1 did everythng I wanted it to as a hobby and I reckon I only used about 30% of its capabilities so the upgarde was a luxury on my behalf.

Things I've noticed so far are:

1. Much neater workspace
2. Easier to pick transitions as the actual effect thumbnail appears next to the effect name.
3. There's a project archiver so you don't lose everything you set up.
4. It accepts a wider variety of files
5. DVD authoring is better although the templates are still a bit naff.

Google around for other views but I reckon if you like Elements 1 and can get the upgrade at a good price it's absolutely worth it.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply, it does sound tempting, I am editing much faster than I did with Prem 6 that I don't want to rock the boat with an upgrade, but as I say it sounds tempting, I would like to be able to do my own DVD menu's and believe that you can do that in Elements 2.

I'll have to have a think.

Thank you once again.

I've played with most appz on the market and finally settled on Vegas. If you have it use it.

Windows Movie maker is not an edit app - it's a pile of sh@*
