Default Can caputring video quality get any better?

OK I am brand new at all this and I am caputring my videos (from a Canon Optura 20) using a firewire to Pinnacle Studios 9 and with the full DV quality thing in check. Once I output it to a VCD and watch it on my TV I noticed that the video looked a little grainy and that things that moved *like people* have like a blur around them. Is there anything I can do to make this look better? Get a dv caputure card or something? I am just using my computers firewird plug. Thanks

As SVHS says, it's not your capture that's the problem. It's the fact that VCD uses MPEG1 which can indeed look the way you describe. If you want bettter quality I suggest you invest in a decent MPEG2 encoder and a DVD burner with authpring sofftware.
