| | device not available I have Vegas 6 and am trying to capture video from a Sony MiniDV via firewire. I keep getting message "device not available". I have the camera on VCR mode. Any suggestions? |

| | This sounds like it could be a case of reinstalling your firewire card, but someone more knowledgable than I will let you know if that's the case, I'm sure. |

| | A common mistake in Vegas is to forget to select your DV camera under the Video tab in the Capture window. Often times new users will overlook this and have it set to SMRT capture. |

| | device not available Thanks for the response. The firewire card is working correctly because I was able to control the camera and capture video in windows moviemaker. I haven't checked the video tab yet. Anything else I should check? I am competent editing video the old fashion way. This is my first non-linear attempt, more or less. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
