Default Camcorder problem

I have a Panasonic NV-DS64 digital camcorder. When I put it in camera mode, the display screen is displaying as if its in M-Card mode and will not allow me to film.

I am wondering if I'm doing something silly (hoping!)

I would be really grateful for any advice.

Thanks.

I have a Panasonic aswell, a GS250 and it sounds to me like you are switching over to still image capture mode. Are you accidentally pressing or moving any other buttons on the camera at the same time? As far as I know there is no way to keep the camera in still mode as it always returns to camera (movie capture mode) when switched off and then on again, hope this helps.
