Default Upgrade Graphics Card

Things are a bit slow, converting to different file formats, burning VCDs and DVDs.
My PC is a 1.67 GHz with a 64Mb graphics card and 512M RAM; 2 hard drives, 80Gb and 120Gb.

Would upgrading to a 256Mb graphics card help a lot or is it the case of a new PC.

Converting to one format to another (encoding) is processor intensive, so unfortunately the graphics card upgrade wouldn't help.

...and your PC is by no means a bad spec. Video editing is, in most cases, very slow. You could add memory and increase processor speed - but I bet it would make only a marginal difference. I took up knitting so I would have something to do waiting for renders, burns etc...
