I can't tell you where it would be, but I would have thought if there was an option it would be fairly obvious. I would reinstall any software which came with the card that the firewire came with. For as long as it's not showing in the device manager though you will never get it to work.

The only problem is that i cant install any software that came with the firewire card because it didnt come with any. The video camera came with software and i have already reinstalled this and it still doesnt work. is there any software i can buy or download that would make it work.

it's jus a lil hard to diagnose the problem if you cant tell us. I appreciate you may have limited technological knowledge so that makes it all the more difficult. - If you really stuck go buy yourself a new firewire "capture" card. When you go to the shop make sure you mention it must be ohci compliant and u using it for video capture. These cards are usually only £30 so well worth it if its giving you probs.
