I am fairly new getting into the PC side of video editing (having been a Mac user until now). I have played around with Vegas and am quite impressed at the "intuitivness" of the program. I didn't find the same with Premiere. I need to make a decision on which to purchase, does Premiere have strengths that Vegas doesn't. Off hand, I havn't seen any picture in picture capability in Vegas.

I think the main plus of Premiere is the volume of FREE support and guides offered by forums like these. I don't think Vegas Video has matured enough to have such a wide following.

On the other hand, I've read rave reviews of Vegas and yep, it seems the press think Vegas is a REAL alternative to Premiere (and some reviews have said it's better). Apparently it handles audio a lot better...
