Hey folks,
I'm pretty new to all this video-editing lark (windows movie maker is my limit of knowledge at the moment) & i'm interested if you could help me. I have a canon ixus 40 (a great camera), which takes AVI vids of 640x480 at 30frames/sec. I was wanting to edit these vids with sound clips, cropping, title screens, joining etc but movie maker is sooo prone to crashing & i've just given up with it

So i decided to buy some software & went with MAGIX movie edit pro 2004 as it had good reviews. Unfortunetly it just doesn't work at all! I can't load any movies/clips on whatsoever as it says it's a "bad file format". None of the AVI's or the converted .wmv's can get through & it's so frustrating. It seems to only except .mvd files but i've no idea what that is. Surely it can just except bog standard .wmv movie clips so i can edit them!
Yes, i'm annoying! I just want to edit my camera video clips but every software i try just doesn't seem to work....any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
