Default A/V Sync Problems

Posted this in another sub-thread, but I think it belongs here.

I encoded an hour and a half movie in Vegas and the result is fine. The only thing is that when you skip through parts of the movie, that audio and video gets out of sync. (Skipping to 40 minutes into the video, the audio is about 3 seconds ahead.) I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I interleave every 0.250 seconds (default), DivX 5.2.1 video codec, and Fraunhofer IIS MP3 codec (don't know how to get the LAME codec to work.)

My bet is that you're using variable bitrate (VBR) audio.

Update: I just found out that it doesn't matter if I skip parts or not. The further into the video, the more behind the audio gets. I'm not sure if FHG Radium is VBR, so can you help me on how I can get LAME working?

What is your source format and what are you using to encode?

Well this has happened before with an AVI source, coming from a FRAPS movie, and audio from an MP3 file. However, this time is coming from a DVD2AVI and VFAPI rip. The video is a VFAPI AVI and the audio is WAV.

Using Vegas 5 to encode.
