Can NERO burn .m2v files as 'DVD Video' ???

Hi.

Im trying to make a DVD Video using the new NERO.
I have added my .mpeg / .avi / .m2v files.........created the menu etc....

When i get to the last bit, ready to transcode & burn...I get an error.

And the following in the log.

----------------------
ERROR
cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception)
source: CMpegVideoEncoder::GetNextAccessUnit
description: cannot read gop info
-----------------------

Now can anyone tell me why i could be getting this?
Is it because nero cant handle .m2v files.

Should i resolve this by transforming the .m2v into another format before burning???

Help is appreciated..........

Welcome to the forums.

May I ask why you;ve added various differently encoded files? Generally speaking you'd either let the dvd authoring software transcode all the files to MPEG2, or import the transcoded MPEG2 (split between m2v and the audio) into the project. This won't be the cause of your problem, but try importing just the AVI or just the MPEG2 into seperate projects and try and create a DVD. You can then isolate the problem.

How did you encode the MPEG2 outside of Nero?

Thanks for the prompt reply on this.
Want to get this cracked today.......

Basically, I have been collecting eppsiodes of a show called 'Rap City'
Over the months i have gathered arround 70 of these clips. Each differing in lengh & format.

This is why some are .m2v and some are .mpg and some are .avi
I have just got a Dual Layer dvd which will fit all the clips on to.

So what would you suggest.
I have various other video edinting software including TMP enc 3XP.

Should i do a batch convert on all the .m2v's to avi or mpg ?

Could you offer a solution to fitting all these clips on 1 DVD video?

Do you want to fit them one DVD for playback on a standalone DVD Player? Assuming you do, you *may* need to compress them to get them to fit on one DVD.

If you don't mind a small sacrifice in quality, I'd recommend batch transcoding them all in TMPGenc Xpress. However, do a test first to ensure compatability. Given that you will have to encode some of the AVI files to MPEG2 anyway, it won't be much of a chore.

I'm thinking that the m2v files you have are not DVD compliant, hence the GOP structure warning. Transcoding using a DVD template will cure this.
