Default problem with video

I recently downloaded a song video from the net (.avi) format 640x480 res and length 3:00 mins but it starts and works fine till the first 10 secs then the video freezes but the audio still goes on till the end ....
what might be the prob ?? how can i correct it ??? i tried converting the vid to mpeg but still it doesnt work .. can anyone plzz help me on this ...?????

What codec does it use (DivX? Xvid?)... it's possible that the file could be corrupt maybe.

definitely sounds like a corrupt file.

The cause of the file being corrupted is probably the use of a download manager (such as Getzilla or DAP), that split files in several segments and transfer them alternatively, then join the parts... usually happens right, but it's common for download managers to fail in that final operation. Try transferring the file again, without the help of additional software.
