Default Frames Dropped (sorry another newbie question)

Hi there...

I know this was asked before, but Im really new to video capturing/editing so I thought I should post this question with my own specificications.

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro All-in-Wonder and a SONY camcorder PC100. I tried to capture some minidvs footages with a firewire cable, but unfortunately I'm getting 200-300 frames dropped for each 20 minutes of movie.

I'm running a Pentium 4, 1.8, with 1 MB Ram, and a HD Barracuda 7200 rpm.

Would a new Serial ATA harddrive solve my problems? Another capturing software? A new Pentium HT processor?

Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks in advance!

You shouldn't really be dropping frames with your spec. How full is your hard drive? Have you defragged recently? Check out my guide to hard drives: http://www.marcpeters.co.uk/video-ed...harddrive.html
