Newbie here.....I am trying to find and download the clip you see at the begining of movies of decending numbers flashing on the screen in black and white. What do you call that clip??

That's a "Counting Leader" with references back to the old days of film where a leader tape was used prior to the main footage. Typically this broke before the actual video did and you also needed it there to allow for slack while the film wrapped around the drums on the projector.

If you're using Adobe Premier, you can create a new leader by right clicking in the bin/file area and slecting the new couting leader.
