Default Problems burning & playing DVDs

I have an LG home cinema system. I'm editing using Pinnacle Plus 9.3 and attempting to creat a DVD using either the 9.3 'Create Disk' option or by using Pinnacle Instant DVD. I'm experimenting using DVD+RW but cannot play what I've recorded.
Any ideas? .... as you'll probably gues I'm very new to this!!
Thanks
Mad

How are you trying to play your creatred DVD? Note that compatability with DVD players isn't 100%.

I know that not all DVDs support the playing of recorded DVDs. To be honest I'm not sure if the I have LG product does or not.
I've emailed LG as well. I think the problem is more likely that I'm not burning the DVD in the right format; or haven't closed the session or some other basic error ... fumbling in the dark really.
I'm using +DVDs ... how do I know if the player needs -DVD format? I beleive that it is the media itself that determines this format?!?
Are there books to pick this stuff up or do I just keep reading the magazines and watching the forums etc?
Regards
Mad

Default Playback method

Sorry ... you did ask how I'm playing the DVD. Essentially as I would any pre-recorded media? Why, should I be doing something else? Assuming that the player is compatable (?) should it not just play?

Default Pinnacle?

Thanks will check that ... I see somewhere on the forum "... avoid Pinnacle products like the plague ...". Is this likely to be an issue?

Providing you followed a wizard type interface in creating the DVD, the most likely scenario is incompatable media. Could, of course, be any number of other problems (without knowing exactly what you did ).

Default Will try again ....!

Thanx ....
I'll try again .... the VideoHelp.com site is a help ... says media is compatable anyway (perhaps lower burn speed?).
The media is Philips by the way.

Will continue to watch & listen on your excellent forum!!!
