I am having a problem getting a good playback when downloading a video to my computer. I am doing this to put videos on my website. I have a JVC Mini-DV. I am connecting to the computer using a 1394 cable. I have either WMM or ImageMixer. While I am downloading and I preview the download during, it looks great. But when I go back to look at what I've got captured, it is very pixelated, blotchy. What can I do to make it better and get rid of the blotches? Thank you, in advance. Later, QD.

Transfer of video from camera to PC is obviously fine otherwise you wouldn't see a good image at all. I wonder if it's the save-to-disk bit that is the issue.
I'm not familiar with those apps so...
What format is the footage being saved to your HDD as?
Have you plenty (and I mean loads) of space on yor HDD?
Is your HDD defraged properly? - this is very important.

Yes, I have plenty of space to save. It is being saved as a .WMV file. Later, QD.

Capture and save as DV AVI - lossless format. Wil take up loads of disk space though (or at least relatively it will). About 1Gb for 5 minutes of capture. But you'll see a big difference.
Only once you've finished editing should you export as WMV - if that's your thng.

Remember that the capture process is lossless, but DV AVI is NOT a lossless codec - it's good for about 5 encodes.
