Can you be a little more precise? What kind of file(s) do you now have on your DVD? .avi?

Oh, right. Others on here are better informed about how you rip a DVD to your hard drive to edit - I'll leave you in their safe hands.

Theres a few options

1) Rip (copy) the VOB files on the DVD to your hard drive. You can then edit these using a native MPEG editor such as MPEG Video Wizard --> review here: http://www.digital-director.co.uk/gu...ob-mpeg-48.htm - you could use Ulead to edit the VOBs, but a) they might not import and b) if they do, then the editing will be stuttery.

This is because MPEG is made up of a Group of Pictures (GOP) structure - meaning that a bunch of frames of video are bunched together. You can't get frame accurate results unless you use an intermediary codec (such as the one MPEF video wizard uses) or

2) Convert the VOB files to DV AVI using something like FlaskMPEG, then import these into Ulead.
