Default Customizing Timer In Sony Vegas 8

I have my timer zoomed in so I can only see the video portion of the media in the timer, but when I select media to add to timer the video media appears in timer and snaps to the audio part every time...Meaning I have to scroll up in the timer to see/edit video EVERY TIME I add a clip, this is annoying and unproductive, do you know how I can stop this so when I add clips the timer, it will snap on the zoomed video portion only?

Thank you
