Default Help for a Newbie???

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question.

I am wanting to get into turning our home videos/pictures into home DVDs. I have ordered a new computer and it should be here this week. I have been researching which software to buy and can not decide. I think I have it narrowed down to Power Director 3 or Pinnacle Studio 9.

Pinnacle seems to have such negative reviews everywhere.

I am NOT a computer wiz. I am a stay at home Mom who has average to above average computer skills. Any advice for me? Which of these programs is best or is there another I should consider. Any help that you all can give me would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would say TRY before you BUY - a great feature of most if not all of the budget editors out there!

You can download a 30-day trial of all Ulead products direct from their website. I strongly suggest you take a look at their ulead video studio 8 (reviewed by our resident Ulead fan, Mr Jammy - http://www.marcpeters.co.uk/video-studio-8.htm

I;ve also create a list of video editing software and links at http://www.videoforums.co.uk/ftopic548.html

Also check out PC magazines as these often come supplied with a DVD of shareware and/or free video editing software - sometimes even old versions of FULL applications. Now that's what I call a bargain!
