I go to "file" > "Capture" > "Movie Capture" Then when I try to do anything I get this error The DV device is unavailable for device control... I have a DV Canon MV6i camcorder and i'm trying to capture using USB and I installed the driver but I don't know if the driver is properly working either. It's my first time using any Editing software so i'm a complete newbie. Please help me. My aim is joey4127 but I will spend a lot of time on this forum too.

It would appear that you are trying to capture via DV, which means you need to connect your camera via FIREWIRE and not USB.
