hey, dont give up me yet guys. I got some AVI video files on a DVD from a friend(stuff that was shot on a PAL DSR 200 DVCAM that was fine as he used it for a short film); however when I imported it in to Premier Pro 1.5 it became interlaced. The project settings were the same.

why would my set up interlace these files.

thanks

Ste

I think the problem here is that the files are interlaced to start with. Not really sure what;s going on here. Only thing I can suggest is that your DV codec is a bit screwed (unlikely though).

To summarise: any video that looks fine when played on someone else's PC in Premiere Pro looks kooky on your PC?

It's drastic, but how drastic would a format and reinstall of your OS be?

sounds drastic to me , got tonnes of things going on at the moment and most to do with the PC. when I first got the pc it had a radion all in wonder card with TV tuner and analogue in type capture and it wouldnt work so got it replaced but i spent a lot of time trying to load the wmd capture driver for the card before i realised that the card itslef was faulty......think i am just thinking out loud here!! A bit lost for a solution

thanks

Thats what makes the world go round, we are humans and react indiferent ways to a problem. Me and yu would search the archives for old postings, other might not. Manuel I am sure would have a different approach which would be chaotic and result in me losing my temper with him.

Hold on a minute old boy, not all of us can at the drop of a hat can get the plastic card out of the backpoket and go down to dixons to buy another cam just like that. Some of feel that airing our concerns on a forum is the way to go.

As Lenin would have said "when I hear the word revolution I reach for my Kalashnikoff"
