Default combining video and data on the same disk

Hi there,

I am producing photo slide shows with Pictures to Exe. This program produces an exe file which runs fine on a PC. The program is also capable of producing the slide show as a DVD.

I can make one or the other but have been unable to combine the two on the same disc.

I've seen it done with others where the video DVD has a folder with resources on it. Any ideas how to do this?

regards

Brian

I don't know how you create it specifically with your program, but the principle is as follows.
A video DVD (ie a normal DVD which you can play in a domestic DVD player) contains at the top level, two folders "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDO_TS".

You need to burn a DVD with these and a THIRD top level folder called EXTRAS (and I'm pretty sure it HAS to becalled EXTRAS). Put your additional files in that folder.

Hi Tim,

thanks for your reply.

I tried what you suggest but the only way I can create a disk with the extra folder is by making a data disk and then the format is wrong.

If I try to make a video DVD then the program wont allow me to include any other folders. I am using Nero.

BTW. I have a purchased DVD that has a folder containing data, so I know there must be a way. The extra folder on that disk is called resources.

regards

Brian

I don't use Nero apart from for burning complete images once created in other software, but the following article suggests you can...

I haven't read the link but would it be possible to put a link to external files (or just the folder were the files resided) in the main dvd menu?
