0 Videos nominated Video Of the Month(s): 0 | | Sony/ mpeg1 - mpeg 4 / compatability / conversion software ? :
I have a data base of mpeg files created on a sony cybershot dsc-p92-5mp,i apparently need to convert the file format to mpeg4 format before I can transfer them to a sony ericsson p910i pda mobile phone for viewing/sharing etc.
Does anyone know of suitable software which is
understandable
workable
fast
and actually gives a finished result that works !! |

Mpeg1 is very low resolution. Reencoding it again to Mpeg4 would result in further loss of resolution and I doubt you would be pleased with the end results.
If you want to at least try it though then take a look here: http://www.artech365.com/

 will try your advice, unless ofcourse you can think of a way of enabling the sony p910i to view the mpeg1 files ? i rang the sony ericsson technical helpline, thats a laugh ! , like ringing sesame street for phone a friend on millionaire !, they said due to the simbian software on the unit it would not be able to play the mpeg 1 files, they said i could not load another program onto it ? what do you think ?

I think they are probably right. They wouldn't have any commercial interest in not allowing you to play mpeg1 files on it. I don't know for sure though.
