Help with Powerproducer gold 2

Hi,
Have medion aldi computer pentium 4. Am using panasonic nvgs11 minidvcamera. Trying to burn straight to dvd using right to disc option and keep getting message the input signal and the output format are incompatible please choose another disc format.
The computer is only 6 months old, and i am an extreme novice and dont know what to do. It has worked before when i burned my movie in July.
A friend has updated our dvd drive pioneer 107d. We have the ati radeon 98xxl thingy. We also had problems with the neroexpress software, but our friend updated this and thats ok. I did manage to copy a dvd today using power thingy, but why cant i record my movie straight to disc. I am getting the dv playing on the computer screen? Any help would be greatly received, only i did phone Medion and all they want to do is for me to restore the computer to factory settiings!! That doesnt help me.

You don't mention what software you are using. Could you confirm:

1) The name of the software
2) The exact steps taken to produce the DVD from opening up the software
3) The complete error message

It would seem that your software either requires DVD compliant MPEG as the source or

you are trying to write to a CD or

The DVD isn't blank
