Default "To catch a thief"

Hello,

I have a .dvr file from a cctv with a thief trying to use a credit card at the ATM. Is there anything I could use to grab a clearer image of the culprit?

Thanks,

monk

It was given to me by a Thai police officer. I assumed he wasn't up to speed on video software. He just sent it to me because I run a few websites and he thinks I'm "good with computer".

What you might see in movies when rough images are magically enhanced is almost complete tosh. If the information is not in the image, then the most you can do is manipulate things like contrast, brightness, sharpness and blur (sometimes blurring things generates the tonal graduations that might actually make things clearer).

I agree, sometimes blurring the image can help blending the pixels together giving the illusion of a sharper image. Good Luck, and I hope you catch that ....%&$#ER!!!

I figured most of that movie stuff was bull. I'll play with the screen captures in Photoshop and see what I can do.

Thanks,

monk
