I have a VHS tape which is a football game. I captured it on my PC using
Windows Movie Maker. It automatically turned each play into its own clip.
What I need to do is to make an independent movie file out of each clip. I need to do this in a batch mode (hit a key, come back later, and they're all made). I don't have time to go through a multistep process for each clip.
Can Windows Movie Maker do this?
Do I need to get something else?

What do you mean by individual movie file? You mention that it already created individual clips (which are movie files). What do you need exactly?

The clips are only on the Windows Movie Maker menu. In order to make an individual clip into a movie file that can be uploaded to a web site, requires several steps and several minutes.
I need to convert every clip with the movie into an individual .avi, .mpg or something file that can be uploaded to a web site. And it has to be in a batch mode so I can start it and leave.
Does that make sense?

Not sure I follow 100% but from what I understand you don't need a video editor but a video convertor tool. If that's the case then you need something like this: http://www.video-tool.com/
I don't know of any batch tools at all available within Windows Movie Maker.

It looks like Video Tool reads one movie file and outputs 1 movie file.
I need something to read 1 movie file and output many files - all in 1 process.
When I capture my VHS tape with Movie Maker, it recognizes multiple clips (some call them chapters). It recognizes them because the VHS tape was created by starting and stopping the camera before and after every play (it's a football game).
I need each of the plays converted into its own movie file (.aiv, .wmv, or something). I need to set it up, click a button, walk away, and when I get back, they are all done. There might be 200 of them.
Can anything do this?
