Default iMovie help - underlying media

Hello, I just signed up here because I need help with this.

I am using iMovie HD on a Mac, and have discovered the slow motion feature sucks. I downloaded JES Deinterlacer so I could get a smooth slow mo, and it works very well. The only problem... it takes FOREVER. I am trying to get a 2 second video clip to be in slow motion, but iMovie says it has "underlying media" which was trimmed from the original clip.

How can I get rid of this "underlying media", so that my slow mo processing can go faster?

Or is there a complete simple alternative to getting smooth slow motion clips?

Thanks.

iMovie is a free software, so i dont think that it's has a good slowmo too ... try export your clips to final cut and use Twixtor plug ins...

Are there any other options? I don't have FinalCut - it costs like a million bucks.

Sorry to butt in but if I bought the Twixtor Pro plugin for Final Cut Pro would I also be able to use it in Shake?

Their website isn't very clear on this.
