Default HELP ME PLEASE!!!! fx problem

I can't see my fx in the preview window til it's rendered. Any idea how I can fix this. R

I'm very confused here - regardl;ess of what s/w this actually is. Are you really expecting yoru s/w to display your final video wioth effects on it BEFORE it's worked out what it should look like?

It's a bit like asking for the answer to a maths question but give me the answer BEFORE you work it out.

Am I missing something here?

I actually figured out on my own that if the show automation button is on I can't see the effects in my preview window, but I can if its off. But thank You for the help! R
