newbie questions about software which was used in these videos

Hello! Firstly I have to say that I'm absolutely new to video creation and I myself worked in sound production before, but now I want to start learn video creation for using it in live-performances and also for making clips for myself (music+video). Thus I want to analyze the concrete simple examples of videos with you guys and I'm very very rely on your advices and help!

Well, to begin with:
as you can see at Aphex Twin's performance YouTube - Aphex Turin Cabaret video consists of the graphics and collages of various fragments. I want to create my video in the same field. What software do I need, what effects, how?!
