Default Sony Handycam DVD110e

Never had a camcorder before and just purchased a sony handycam dvd110e.

Found it great for recording str8 to dvd so i can play back on any dvd palyer.

One issue..... I would like to format some video clips to mpg so that I can e-mail to parents, etc. however have no idea how and wonder if anyone can help?

I have tried completing dvd and looking at files in laptop dvd drive but files are not compatible to attache to an e-mail.

I have tried connecting camcorder to laptop using the included sony software but it just comes up with a media uncompatible message when i try to view whats on the camcorder dvd.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since sony manual useless on this subject and i am a total newbie

cheers in advance

hairy
