Codec for Sony Camcorder DCR SR-32

Hi there,

I'm trying to put video clips onto my PC for editing from my Sony sr-32 HDD camcorder. This is for use in Windows Movie Maker and for Premier.

I've tried to discover which codec will do the trick, have downloaded G-Spot which is a program which apparently does this for you, but it just says "unable to render video/audio".

Does anybody know which codec I will need??? All help gratefully received. I've been trawling the net, can't find squat.
