So my brother just bought this new camcorder GZ-MG330AU and is a little discouraged with how less 'colorful' his new recorded videos look when compared to the videos he was filming with a Canon digital camera.




As you can see, the second picture does portray Mario's true colors better.

He's tried adjusting his camcorder's brightness, but he says it doesn't really make it more colorful.

So, is there anything he can do?

The top picture is slightly overexposed so all the colours appear to be washed out, this is due to the dark background in picture one. The opposite has happened in picture two, with a light coloured background the iris on the camera has closed slightly and you are getting more saturated colours. I don't think it's anything to worry about, it's just the backgrounds and the lighting conditions you are filming under. Does your camcorder have any manual controls to adjust the exposure settings?
