Default Menu, Title & Chapters Confusion

I have 5 short video files (all wmv files approx 4 minutes each)
I've burnt them to a DVD

I play the DVD and as expected I can see my 5 titles and using my handheld remote control I can select any title to play

BUT, regardless of which one I select, after it's played it then carries on straight into the next video (apart from if I select the last one and then it returns back to the menu)...

This is the first DVD I've done but I was expecting the DVD to play each 4 minute video individually and return back to the menu...

Is this just how DVDs work... ?

(Using Nero 6 Nero Vision Express 3 to burn DVDs)

I am clearly not an expert and can only share my personal experience.

With all of the dvd scene or chapter menus I have created what happens at the end of each chapter is determined by the commands you invoke when setting up the chapter menu before dvd is created and burned.

I assume you are using software that allows to set options. I use a spiffy program from Sonic called DVDitPE - a less fancy version called MyDvd allows pretty much same authoring options.

You have five short separate video files ready for your dvd.

Open your dvd creation program and import all five files into the workspace and arrange them in the order you prefer.

Depending on how your software is setup there should be a chapter menu option menu accessed by right clicking on the file or file name or maybe in drop-down menu by clicking on project or tools.

You should be able to select what you want to happen at end of each video chapter and select at end go to next chapter or at end go to main menu.

If your software doesn't allow you to configure such simple things then you need better software.
goodluck

I now know what you're on about - I've had a look and I've now found the option that allows me to either return to main menu, play next video etc...

I'll check out the other DVD burning software just out of interest anyway...

Thanks for your reply...

Hey
Glad you found the options in the software you like to use.

It didn't make a lot of sense for any program to not give you file end-play options for "building" a chapter or scene menu.

Glad it's working out as you'd like.
