Angry problem viewing.

Can anyone help?
I am new to this camcorder thing and bought a Canaon DC201 cam which takes mini dvd to record on. I was told that I could record on these mini discs and then transfer the recordings onto my pc to view and maybe download onto normal size dvd's etc. I can manage to record onto the mini discs. The first disc I taped 6 differents scenes, I then tried to open on my pc which I can do through media player. However the problem is that I have no idea how to save either the whole disc or each individual scene onto my pc? Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Thanks, Al
