I did not know where to post so here it goes, i have noticed that when you capture movie from Sony Vegas it can control camcorder play stop rewind settings, and from virtual dub you can have access to write/pause controls, is there any other controls that i can use from pc e.g. zoom in/out etc?

Normally for remote use on Zoom you need to use the LANC connector. it will also operate mechanism controls

Fire Wire is only for the mechon as far as I know

I heard LANC only works with Sony/Canon camcorders, i got Panasonic low end camcorder.

I used VirtualDub > Capture > Video - Capture Pin or Capture Filter capturing mode with USB connection, it also has access to Zoom, and some more playback controls than same menu from MiniDV mode, though that extra controls worked from Vegas capture mode.

So i thinking there could be software that can control as much options of camera as possible.
