Default converting avi type 1 to avi type 2 with Canopus-> error

hey guys,

I've run into the situation where i've captured footage with Movie Maker 2, done some editing in there and now want to finish off in Pinnacle Studio 8.

I've saved the footage as DV-AVI. As you probably know MM2 saves AVIs as Type 1.

I'm attempting to use Canopus DV File Converter to convert the avi to Type 2 so that Pinnacle Studio can import correctly.

The footage is about an hour long (13 gigs), around 5 gigs the conversion stops with a message saying the whole file was not converted and to check before deleting the source.

Anyone run into this problem? I've converted smaller files before with no problem but this one just won't convert.

Any ideas?

thanks

Jason

You might try an external conversion program, like this one-

http://www.jhepple.com/support/dv1to2.htm

or from Ulead's website this free converter (I have used this one, but not on large files)
