Default How to Rotate a Video Clip

By accident, I turned my digital camera on its side whilst taking a video clip, which means that it has now viewed on my screen on its side! My digital camera produces video files in .mov format. This file format does not appear to be recognized by Windows Movie Maker, which, I know has the facility to rotate files.

Unfortunately, the side effects using Windows Movie Maker, having converted to both .wmf and .avi via Cinema Forge, are that the image is squashed, and, more importantly, the picture quality is pretty bad, compared with the original. mov file

Hopefully, there will be a simple answer? I hope so!

Thanks,

Tosh

Default

just get virtualDub and use the "rotate" filter. You can then export it as a avi

Default An easier software

I have found the following software a lot easier to use.

Rotate Videos

All you have to do is right click the file and open with the software to batch rotate. No loss in quality and very quick.

Hope it helps someone!

Hi alex125, thanks for that post, you are so right, that software is excellent.

I thought I would video a model wearing the latest range of Possumsilk knitwear, so I could add individual videos to each Possumsilk product page of my New Zealand gift store shopenzed.com - Home Page - maori koru designs, maori weapons, maori tattoo designs, .... But I am so used to using a digital camera, I forgot that I couldn't automatically rotate a video with its accompanying software ( like I can do with my camera).

I used the software you recommended, and can confirm what you said - the videos rotated correctly, quickly, and with no loss of quality.

Thanks a bunch!

Lesley
