HELP! Super imposing heads on a video..

Hey all,

I'm sure this is something real easy, but I haven't worked with video editing in this way before. How or with what program can I superimpose different faces or images ontop of an exsisting video? I currently have access to Sony Vegas but I could ask around and see what my friends have... please help!
