Default Which Software package?

Hi,

I was thinking of getting either Cyberlink PowerDirector5 (6?) or Adobe Premier Elements 3.

I want to make up my own customised DVD menus.

I want to transfer and edit VHS, chopping and changing footage around as I have a vast collection of snippets on tape (song clips etc), and I want to put the clips onto DVD.

Which is the best tool for this.

I am not big into DVD editing, so I am really coming into this at entry level, though I do pick things up quickly.

Many thanks

Belinda xxxxx

Default

editing the video is not a problem and both offer DVD creation that is ok but limited. I would go for Premiere elements, but only because I have seen and used it and it is easy to learn and offers good quality effects.

Keep in mind that you may one day outgrow the DVD abilities of both of these apps and might want to look at a program like DVDlab or Encore, both of which are capable of just about everything that can be done with a DVD.

Forgot to mention - You will need an A2D (analogue to Digital) capture device or a TV card with analogue capture to be able to get your tapes in to the PC as digital video.
