Default Premiere 2.0 - Unsupported Audio Rate in File

I've been trying to import AVI files into Premiere, but for some reason it keeps giving me this "Unsupported Audio Rate in File" error. I don't know why this is happening. I've searched the net for an answer, but no one else seems to have this problem with AVIs, only with MPEGs, and the solutions that were recommended didn't work for me. HELP

No answer yet? I can only suggets hitting it with a "bigger hammer".

Find yourself an audio editor and/or download a freebie trial of somethign Adobe Audition. Pull the sound out of the movie file with that. COnvert to a different rate and save the sound in a seperate file.

Pull the sound into Premiere as an asset and sync it with your movie.

I am getting the same "unsupported audio rate in file" for AVI files and yes, I have an HP computer. Is that the problem?

It's not a real problem but I was having similar problems. The HP and premiere audio setting don't work together so you have to download a realtek high definition audio driver update from HP and you should be good to go
