Get error message when importing mod files to power director

When attempting to import mod files to Power director 5 from my jvc evario cam corder I get an error message :

"An error occurred when opening this media file in the Library K:\JVC Video Files\SD_VIDEO\PRG002\MOV00A.MOD"

Has anyone else had this hassle ?
