Default Copying VHS video to mini dv camcorder - Problems

I have a Canon MVX3i (mini dv), a two-way scart adaptor with audio/video sockets (3), Stereo video cable (STV 250N) with the three plugs (L,R and video), S-video cable (with the correct small dinn plugs), plus the video recorder.

Now the whole process went smoothly but the film came out in black and white - sound was fine, picture fine but in black and white.

Can anyone tell me why? and how can I get colour? What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks
Frances144

Might be a bum-steer but is this an NTCS signal being recorded onto a PAL device.

I remember in the early days of DVD attempting to watch an NTSC movie on a purely PAL TV. Everything was ok except it came out in black and white. Could this scenario be related to your own. Also, the Macrovision of the recording may have also been an issue as well.

Problem solved - I phoned Canon and they were helpful - took away the Dimm plug cord and just used the one with three jacks. Works fine.

Hurrah!

Thanks for your suggestions. I will bookmark this forum as I think I will be needing your help again very soon.

Thanks
