Default How do I split Screen

I have a book that shows me how to have a split screen where I shoot myself in two different positions talking to myself etc. The software being used is Final Cut Pro. I think that is a MAC sftware and doesn't work with on a Windows PC.

Is there any other software that allow me to remove half the screen and run two separate scenes together.?

Any software that allows multiple video tracks such as Adobe Premiere Elements or Pure Motion Edit Studio.

I have loaded up Adobe Premier Elements.

I have shot myself in two scenes at a table in different chairs, can someone tell me in NEWBIE terms how to do a clone sequence by layering the two clips into one???????

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I know that if you keep the camera and everything in the shot in the same exact spot and then film yourself in one chair, then the other, you should be able to layer them on top of each other and get the effect you desire.

I discovered this with my webcam once... it's an awesome effect. Hope this works for you.

Just apply a four point garbage matt tothe top layer. Set the four points to mask off the side of the screen without you in it. This will have the effect of showing the layer below through the area you mask off. You should see yourself twice. Job done.

For best results you should consider feathering the mask but you won't do that in Elements easily. Also, be careful not to move around (much) when filming yorusefl for this job. For example if you wave your arms around your hand might disapear if it goes 'through' the mask you've just added.

Also, get you lighting consistent or the difference will be obvious.
