I have previously captured video from my Panasonic NVGS250 recorder to my computer using Nero & Panasonic software . I now have a problem where the software will not recognise the recorder. It will download still photographs from the SD card but will not recognise the video for capture. The cable is a USB connection to the computer.

Any suggestions for a fix are most welcome.

Stop using USB is the answer to that question and start using Firewire (again). If you haven't got a Firewire cable get one with a four pin connector on one end - for the camcorder - and a six pin on the other end for the computer.
