Default Tape to Web Site Format

I would like to know if there is a software package that can take a tapped video and convert it to a format that is suitable for uploading to a website. From the website a viewer can download the video, which is viewable on a Microsoft Media Player.

A premature thanks,
TA

do you mean; VHS, DV, DVCAM, CINE, 38mm, betamax? any tv card with a record feature and an imput for you VCR will convert to either mpg or avi, from there you can encode for web.

Komatoast,

Sorry for the lack of clarity on my behalf; I met to say a say a camcorder tape from my video camera.

If it is mini dv then firewire is the way to go. capture to your software, win movie maker will do, add the captured video to the timeline and choose 1 of the presets in the save to computer dialog.

if the camera is not dv then your best bet is a tv capture card
